An Accountants Email List Built on Verified Firm Data
Accountants are a valuable audience and a tricky one. Firms are often small, partner led and protective of their time, and for roughly a third of the year many of them are buried in tax deadlines. Reaching them works best when you contact the right person, at the right time, with an offer that clearly fits their practice.
Coldlytics helps with the first part. Voyager DB holds deep data on US accounting firms, from solo CPA practices to multi-office firms, with filters for location, headcount, revenue and web presence. Pick the firms that fit, then reveal verified contacts for partners and owners.
People use these lists to sell practice management and tax software, offer marketing and lead generation services to firms, recruit accounting talent, or build referral relationships with financial advisors and attorneys.
How to Build an Accountants Email List in Voyager
Here is a real search we ran in the Coldlytics dashboard in October 2026. The goal: owners, partners and senior leaders at accounting firms around Denver, Colorado. We used the People tab so we could see every person before revealing anyone.
1Step 1: Run a specific search in Voyager DB
Open Voyager DB and switch to the People tab. Under Categories, include Accounting.

Next, open Location and add Denver, CO, USA with a 75 mile radius, which also covers Boulder, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs.

Then under Seniority, include Owners/Founders and Directors & Executives. The search comes down to 78 people: owners, founders, CEOs, CFOs, COOs and partners, with their firm, website, department and LinkedIn profile.

2Step 2: Instantly reveal contacts and tag them
Click Reveal Contacts. Of the 78 people across 19 firms, 22 were new and 56 were already in our Contacts from earlier work, so those cost nothing and simply joined the tag. We created the tag Accountants Denver in the Tag contacts field.
The cost shows before you click: up to 22 credits. Nineteen of the new contacts were already verified for deliverability, and 3 would be checked live at reveal time.

3Step 3: Check what was delivered and what it cost
21 verified emails were delivered for 21 credits. One failed live verification, so it was not delivered or charged. The 56 people we already had were free.

4Step 4: Send the shortfall to Contact Research
Our search found 78 people at 19 Denver firms. Voyager only lists the people it already has, so it stops there. If you need more firms than that, or other roles at the same ones, Contact Research finds partners, tax managers or firm administrators for you, priced per contact found.
Click Find more in the reveal summary. That opens Contact Research with your search already filled in. In Targeting, choose the Key Decision Makers seniority and, if you like, specific job titles. You can also tick Find new companies beyond my search results and set the location and industry, so our team keeps sourcing companies that match when a smaller market runs thin. The screenshots below are from our construction search, but the steps are the same.

In Deliver, choose the data points you need and add any notes for the research team. The footer shows the cost before you launch, at 5 credits per researched contact.

When you are happy, click Launch Task. Researched contacts are delivered to your dashboard, usually within 24 hours on business days.
5Step 5: Find your list in Contacts and export it
Everything you reveal or research lands in Contacts. Filter Contacts by Accountants Denver and you get 77 people: the 21 new reveals plus the 56 already in Contacts. Each comes with company, website, address and LinkedIn where we have it (email addresses are blurred in this screenshot).

Then click Export All to Download as CSV or send the list straight to HubSpot or Instantly.
Prefer to start from companies? Use the Companies tab
You do not have to start from people. Switch to the Companies tab and filter on company-level fields such as Categories, Location, Revenue and Headcount. Person-level filters like Seniority do not apply on this tab, so they drop off.
With the Accounting and Denver filters, plus a Headcount of 5 to 25 to focus on smaller firms, the Companies tab shows 707 companies, each with its website, phone, address and city, so you can sanity check the list before you reveal anyone.

Headcount is a company-level filter, so it is a quick way to trim the list to the firm size you sell to. Click Reveal Contacts to choose the Seniority, Department and Contacts per company you want, so you reach the right person at each business.

Accountants Email Lists by Practice Type
CPA Email List
CPA firms provide audit, tax and advisory work and tend to have partners who share decisions. A CPA email list works best when you reach a specific partner rather than the firm as a whole. In Contact Research, add managing partner or tax partner as job titles.
Tax Preparers Email List
Tax preparation businesses are highly seasonal and often owner run, sometimes with franchise locations. Locations & Franchises helps you separate independent preparers from franchise offices. Reach out in late spring or summer, after the filing rush.
Bookkeepers Email List
Bookkeeping firms handle ongoing monthly work for small businesses and are often quick adopters of cloud accounting tools. Owners are the right contact. The Technologies filter can show which firms use particular software on their websites.
Small Accounting Practices Email List
Solo accountants and small practices make up a large share of the market. Decisions rest with one person, and that person is busy. Keep emails short and direct, and use Headcount to focus on firms with only a few staff.
Mid-Sized Accounting Firms Email List
Firms with several partners and multiple offices have more structure: an operations lead, a marketing manager, sometimes an IT contact. Add Middle Management in Contact Research to reach those roles, and use Revenue or Headcount to find firms in the right size band.
When to Contact Accountants
Timing matters more with accountants than with most industries. January through mid-April is the busiest stretch for tax-focused firms, and response rates drop. Late spring, summer and early fall are usually better windows for new conversations, with a second dip around extended filing deadlines in the fall.
